I’m doing a cleanse. I know, eye roll, groan. They don’t bother me actually. Doesn’t it feel right to reset every so often? A reboot, almost. We do it with our closets, our routines and our goals. Why not our bodies?

A friend of mine sells Advocare. She tried to get me to do this with her a few years ago, but I wan’t ready. It was scary to commit to it, but I’m ready now, whew, am I ready! I don’t like feeling the way I feel. It isn’t about the scale. My scale number has always been a big number, even when I was a size 6. When I sit I’m uncomfortable and when I catch myself eating for no reason I get extremely uncomfortable. Do you do that?

A vegetable juice cleanse is the only other cleanse I’ve ever done. Carrots, cucumbers, beets, ginger, celery and jalepeno is my favorite combo. My first time juicing was 7 years ago. After watching Fat Sick and Nearly Dead I had to do something. I did and I liked it. Have you seen Fat Sick and Nearly Dead?  You should really watch it. Check it out on Netflix or just go here.

So back to this cleanse. The program we are using is from Advocare. Are you familiar with Advocare? They are a vitamin and supplement company. I have enjoyed the Advocare Spark drink for years. The cleanse we are doing is called the Advocare 24 Day Challenge. I’ll be honest, I don’t like the word challenge. It makes me think difficultly, struggle or rocky terrain. I’m sticking to the word Cleanse. I want to set myself up for success, right?

These are the day 1-10 Products.

*In the morning, 30 minutes before breakfast take 2 probiotics, followed by 2 Omegaplex capsules. With breakfast drink a fiber packet mixed with juice or water. I mix with water and chug. Get it down. You can have your Spark drink then or later. In fact, Kim mixes her Spark with her Fiber drink. I had mine around 3:00 PM. Catalyst is another supplement I’m taking. In the evening before bed take 1-2 Omegaplex and 2 Herbal Cleanse capsules. Then eat and snack responsibly. Ha, there’s the challenge.

I’m focusing on the first phase, days 1-10, right now. I don’t want to bog myself down thinking too far ahead.

Side note: I’ve recently started a Facebook Live Bookclub, click the words to get there. Currently we are discussing: Finish, Give Yourself the Gift of Done. One of the ways John Acuff tells us we can finish and beat perfectionism is by cutting our goal in half. So that is why I’m focusing on day 1-10. My goal is to finish. Baby steps.

I realize and accept I need boundaries. I do better when I have a program to follow. Maybe it keeps me accountable. It really doesn’t matter why or what I like about it, it works for me. Right?

For dinner tonight I’m making a marinara sauce. I’ll have spaghetti squash and Michael will have angel hair pasta. I need to lose twenty pounds and Michael needs to gain twenty pounds.
