Hello Everyone! How has your week been? Mine has been going well. I wanted to share with you a project we did this weekend. We love to play board games….we love to play games…plain and simple. Yahtzee! is our favorite. We play a round or two at least one night a week. We really need outdoor games. I have been considering making a set of baggo boards and recently, Michael agreed to help.
As I was scrolling through Pinterest looking for directions on how to construct the baggo boards I found plans for Yahtzee! in your yard!!! What? First of all, why didn’t I think of that? And second, I have to have this.
We surveyed the wood pile and found that we had everything we needed for both projects. The cost was only our time. And we were together…which is our prerequisite for everything. The Yahtzee! dice were cut from a 4 inch post. Then I sanded and stained the blocks before painting on the white dots. The whole project from cut to finish took 2 1/2 hours.
You can see the size of the blocks beside my sandals.
I got the tutorial from Lemon Thistle. So many cute ideas there. (side note: I can’t put a link here for it. I’m not sure what that is about) The dice were cut every 3 1/2 inches since a 4 inch post isn’t really 4 inches. Once they were cut I sanded, stained and painted on the die dots. That’s it! So simple.
Next was the baggo/corn hole game. I got the tutorial and directions here. This one is just as simple it only takes a little more time.
I am so excited to add these games to our back yard fun. If you give these a try let me know.
Be you. Be beautiful. Be imperfect.
